Wisconsin Log Homes believes that your experience is just as important as your home. Our Design Build Solution is a proven beginning-to-end design and build guide to your personalized dream home. Our complete service approach combines On-Site Design Consultations, Architectural Planning and Design, Turn-Key Construction, Full-Service Interior Design & Décor, and Finish Cabinetry.

Beginning Our Relationship
Your journey begins by researching Wisconsin Log Homes in magazines and through our website, informative brochures, and of course by talking with one of our experienced home consultants. In many cases, our clients will also visit our headquarters in Green Bay, Wisconsin to learn more about who we are and what we do first-hand. During your visit, you’ll meet the team you’ll be working with very extensively throughout your project. You’ll also tour our design center, showroom, manufacturing mill, and nearby log & timber model homes. To make your trip as simple as possible, we’ll credit you $1,000 towards your Wisconsin Log Homes package to compensate for your travel expenses.

Getting to know each of our clients on a personal level is so important to us – whether it be over the phone or in person. By learning more about you and your family, we’re able to get a better understanding of your dream home needs.

*Because we want to give you the personalized attention you deserve during your visit and take as much time necessary to discuss your project plans and visions, we encourage you to call us ahead of time and schedule an appointment before you make the trip to our headquarters. With your scheduled appointment, we can also set up a tour of our private model homes at this time if requested.

Planning & Preliminary Design
Designing a custom home that will fit your needs, visions and budget is the most critical step in the process. During initial design meetings, clients present their home consultant and designer with ideas they’ve collected over time – rough sketches, photos, magazine tear-outs, etc. At this time, we’ll also discuss your needs, ideas, and budget in detail so we can create a basic layout for your log or timber home, within your cost parameters for the entire project. We’ll also discuss if an on-site design consultation is appropriate for your needs.

Throughout the preliminary design stage, our experts will offer suggestions and options for your floor plan, and forward your plans back and forth until you are completely satisfied with the overall design. Our On-line Conference technology allows you to view your floor plan via high-speed internet and speak directly with our design team as you watch your desired revisions made from your own computer screen.

During this phase, we’ll also discuss finishing options – including windows and door styles, log and timber profiles, interior and exterior colors and textures, structural or decorative bracing, and other natural building materials to create the precise style you are envisioning. You’ll have the option to preview your custom design choices with ease by utilizing our optional three-dimensional rendering technology.

Final Design Development
Next is the final design development phase, which means that final floor plans and elevations are combined and adjustments are made for proportion and scale. Every detail is reviewed, ensuring that the structure is accurate for construction. Upon the completion and approval of your final working drawings, Wisconsin Log Homes will begin the production of the custom log and timber components needed for your home. We’ll also establish a tentative ship date. Delivery begins after the excavation, foundation and entrance road are complete.

Turn-Key Construction
Each client is assisted with construction in one form or another during the Wisconsin Log Homes experience. Some may decide to use our in-house construction services - where you’ll receive a user ID and password to your private Client Link page on our website for instant access to schedules, timelines, updates, photos, and more - while others want help qualifying or selecting a builder in their area. If you do not have a builder in mind, we can align you with skilled construction crews in your area who will meet the unique needs of you and your project. Our National Builder Network consists of qualified and experienced builders who we work very closely with and trust to build Wisconsin Log Homes.

Interior Design & Décor
Designing and building a custom hybrid home opens up the door to many design possibilities. With so many choices and styles available today, it is sometimes overwhelming for clients to make comfortable decisions and stay on top of the building process. One of the services that Wisconsin Log Homes offers is in-house interior design & décor, wrapping up the ultimate design and build experience. Working with each client from the preliminary planning stage to completion, our interior designer is able to assist with exterior finish selections like stain, window cladding, hardware and roof colors. In addition to assisting with coordinating package components, Wisconsin Log Homes’ interior designer will also generate a furniture layout customized to your floor plan to give you a better sense of proportion, and to make sure each room will live up to its expectations before your home is built. Complete consultative services include full-circle interior design assistance with paint and finish color, flooring, lighting, furnishings, cabinetry, masonry selection, doors, and personal help on move-in day.
